If only we could meet face-to-face? I’d invite you to join me in Salcombe and see the wonderful view from my house!
Maybe one day we will, but right now, our ‘meetings’ will be using technology: emails, Facebook, Skype, webinars, etc.
Challenge 1 is for us to get the ball rolling and to book an initial appointment.
The aim of that first encounter will to set goals, short and long. We will go deep and arrive at a plan, a strategy for success that will work for you. We have limited time, and I’ve devised a way for you to get the best return on your investment.
For me to mentor you, I need to understand what you need of me. So, initially, I’m going to ask you to tell me things that maybe you’ve not even told yourself. (Of course, everything you reveal will be kept in strict confidence.)
You might have lots of questions for me too. (Check my FAQs. What you need to know might be there.)
In true RedPen tradition, I have three tasks for you to complete between now and our first one-on-one session together.
I’ve set up a Survey Monkey questionnaire for you to answer my questions and to list any questions you have for me too. In this survey, I ask you to describe your current path: who you are, where you’ve come from (what you’ve achieved to date), where you see yourself headed (your vision of the future).
Identify the MAIN PROJECT that you want to work on with me in the coming months.
It’s up to you to decide where you will focus your efforts and I’d recommend you start with what is most import for you, right now.
Consult your diary to find a time when it would work best for you to talk one-on-one with me. The Survey Monkey questionnaire includes a link for you to set up our first appointment.
Now, over to you. There is no deadline for you to complete this initial challenge. Take as much time as you need to complete the survey – giving me as much information as possible – and then book your initial appointment at a time to suit you and your schedule.
If you have any questions about this challenge, raise them in the RedPen Mentoring Facebook group and/or in the thread for the next Facebook event for our monthly MMM. I’ll then aim to include that topic in that session!
And/or we could discuss this challenge during your next catch-up session.
