My guest today is Megan Wagner, fellow pupil at the Self-Publishing School and proud author of Fighting FIRED with Fire: A Guide to Coping with Job Loss, Rising from the Ashes and Igniting a Career you Love.

Just after beginning her marketing business as a side hustle in 2015, Megan Wagner’s full-time job came to abrupt end when she found herself out of a job. That life-jarring experience inspired her to write, Fighting FIRED With Fire, a guide to coping with job loss, rising from the ashes and igniting a career you love.

As an 12-year marketing communications professional, she’d always dreamed of a more meaningful career and owning her own business. Then one fateful day, that dream was forced into fruition, when she was let go from her job as a communications director. She felt a million different emotions over the next few months – everything from relief to anxiety and fear. Megan didn’t have a clue what to do next except get to work and build the business she had always wanted to create. Nearly two years later, Megan’s come to realize that her dismissal was the best thing that could have a happened to her. She’s now living her dream of owning her own marketing consulting business and sharing her personal story with others who might be experiencing job loss.
