Welcome!

I’m proud to be one of the many speakers at the Women in Publishing Summit 2-8 March 2020.

This is my third year!

I was a speaker at the Women in Publishing summit in 2018; that time I talked about using Scrivener. In 2019, I focused on editing: the importance of learning to self-edit, and Editing the RedPen way.

In 2020, I’m focusing on the ‘need to retreat’. As women in publishing, we juggle our writing with other responsibilities: a job, family, friends … and it’s hard enough to find both the time and energy to write.

So, it might seem impossible to abandon everything and attend a retreat. But, my argument is: that’s precisely what we need. A retreat – call it a me-treat – serves to re-energise our minds and soul and is just what the doc ordered. We return to the real world, refreshed and ready to resume life-as-we-know-it.

I host an annual retreat: a weekend in mid November, at the Cottage Hotel, Hope Cove, Devon. Details here.
