It’s been a while. I had a blip at the start of 2025 and it’s taken me all this time to feel ready to blog again.

It happens to the best of us? Losing sight of where we’re going. Losing heart.

BUT I’m back! And I’m looking forward to spending more time – face-to-face even – with writers, whether you are using Scrivener or not.

So what triggered this retreat from blogging?

Last November, Facebook decided to block me from posting links to my website.

I was using JUST US! Facebook groups to work one-on-one with writers who needed help with Scrivener and nine times out of ten, the answer to their prayers was in a blog post of mine.

Unable to post links to those blog posts, Facebook became unusable for me.

What did I do?

I set up a forum on my ScrivenerVirgin website (with lots of help from my tech team) in which I could set up private spaces to carry on working with individuals there.

And then … I spent time transferring all the resources I’d shared on FB into spaces on my forum. This has taken quite  a while!

I left messages on FB to say I’d moved …

And now?

I’m still busy Zooming with Wednesday Writers Online and Nine Online workshops, plus Talking Shop, but I’m also gearing up to start a new face-to-face group – RedPen Cafe – for people who live within striking distance of me (TQ7 in UK).

And, of course, looking forward to returning to the Cottage Hotel for another Hope Cove Writers’ Retreat in November …

What’s next?

That’s up to you! Email me with your requests for topics you’d like me to explore.

  • Anything to do with Scrivener
  • Anything to do with writing craft skills
  • Anything to do with editing
  • Anything …
